In 2005, I graduated from Portland High School in Portland, MI. Immediately, I immersed myself in the art of education at Central Michigan University, where I graduated with my B.S. in EDU in 2010. I double-majored in English and Creative Writing, and minored in History. Upon graduation, I was highly qualified to teach grades 6-12 in the art of English and History. Since that date, I have taught at numerous school districts, finally settling myself at Zeeland Public Schools teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts, and involving myself in the drama program. I am pleased to announce that I will be completing my masters degree through Michigan State University with majors in Literacy Education and Secondary Leadership.

Personally, I am a huge believer in family being the cornerstone of happiness. I am happy to live in a community that values family above all else. To the left, you can see a small gallery of the people I hold close to me.

In my professional life, I pride myself on becoming fully immersed and contagious in my exuberance for my subject. I believe that middle school students benefit from a teacher who truly loves what they teach and understands their point of view. Below, you can see a few of my crazy kids after their final performance of a musical last year. (permission given)
